TouchCAD for industrial design and art.
TouchCAD is well-suited for industrial design, scale models, art, sculpture
etc, where there is a need for the combination of free-form modeling in
combination with TouchCAD's powerful unfolding abilities. TouchCAD 3.5 also
adds the ability to produce pre-painted full color panels in full size!
In this example TouchCAD 3.5 was used for designing pre-printed vinyl covers for mobile phones. Vinyl may be a very flexible material but the patterns never the less need a very accurate fit to the phone to make it easy to apply and to avoid wrinkles. Modeling by Lundström Design for Formula 6000 in London, UK.
The modeling was done in TouchCAD 3.5 and rendered in an external rendering program.
This car body, an illustration of the shape of a 1960-1961 Ferrari 156 Formula 1 car, was modeled based on a set of background images, imported in scale. The model is sometimes refereed to as the "Shark Nose" due to its characteristic nose shape.
